Shop till you drop in Paris
The only thing better than a cosmetic pick-me-up has got to be a shopping weekend in Paris. A fashion capital, first and foremost, this “City of Love” is really all about love for one particular thing – and that’s designer brand labels.
Whilst it pays to plan your Parisian shopping weekend in advance, it’s fortunate that those in charge of city planning have also made it a little bit easier for fashionistas out searching for the latest designer clothing, designer bags, designer shoes and designer accessories.
Take Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré and Rue Saint-Honoré for example. Just off the end of the legendary Avenue des Champs Elysées, running parallel to the Jardin des Tuileries and the Musée du Louvre, this fashionable shopping strip is located in the heart of Paris’ central 1st arrondissement. A veritable treasure trove of French and international fashion designers, it’s along this stretch that you’ll find Sonia Rykiel neighbouring Roberto Cavalli, with Chloe just little further down the street. Across the road from Yves Saint Laurent, you’ll be able to check out Chanel, Cartier and Dolce & Gabbana, whilst Lanvin has women’s and menswear premises on both sides of the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré and Rue Boissy d’Anglas intersection. A classic Paris label and the oldest fashion house still in operation, Lanvin has been somewhat revived to the status of contemporary chic by the seductive and simple designs of Alber Elbaz.
Don’t go too far, as you’ll be standing at the doors of Bottega Veneta in no time at all. Next stops: Prada, Gucci, John Galliano, Ermenegildo Zegna and Hugo Boss. Who doesn’t love Paris in the springtime? In fact, anytime! Summer, autumn or winter – anytime is the right time for a luxury design shopping weekend in Paris! |
